Some days I wake up feeling strong.  I love those days! But other days I feel…, well…, not so convinced.  Some days no matter how I try to push through and put on the full armor of God I just feel like this..

girl warrior

Overdressed in a clunky outfit!

When God told Gideon that He was going to use him to save Israel, He told him to go in the strength that he had and then he said these five words…”I will be with you.”

Those five words make all the difference in the world.  It is the difference between operating solely in our own strength and operating with whatever strength we have and allowing God to add His strength to ours.

There is an old song by Twila Paris called The Warrior is a Child

It goes like this…

Lately I’ve been winning battles left and right
But even winners can get wounded in the fight
People say that I’m amazing
Strong beyond my years
But they don’t see inside of me
I’m hiding all the tears
They don’t know… that I go running home when I fall down
They don’t know… who picks me up when no one is around
I drop my sword and cry for just a while
‘Cause deep inside this armor
The warrior is a child

I think we all feel like that child at times.  No matter how strong you appear on the outside. But He is right there with you.

And THIS is how He sees you!
You ~ the Warrior

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power. Put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our struggle is not against enemies of blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to withstand on that evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.”  Ephesians 6: 10-13
